Definition: Type in which all males are affected and in which females neither exhibit the trait nor transmit the underlying gene. Such type of inherence is to be expected when a gene with full penetrance of expression is located and completely linked to the Y-chromosome.
Context: The types of GSS currently in use are based on the holandric inheritance of the wild-type allele of a recessive gene coding for a selectable marker.
