Definition: Phenomenon that refers to the observation of an increase in severity, and/or decrease in age of onset, of a condition in successive generations of a family.
Context: The founder mutation would then be expected to have occurred de novo in a preceding generation, but, due to anticipation, not resulted in disease until one or two further generations had passed.
